Through balanced teams, comprised of Product Managers, UX Designers, Software Developers, and Data Scientists, we unwrap complexity, target real user needs, and deliver scalable services. We are searching for a talented UX Researcher to join the UX team and take part in the exciting endeavor of building digital products & services at TechnipFMC. Job Description Working as a UX Researcher you will be planning and conducting research studies, following our best practices and design methodologies, analyzing results, and presenting insights to the stakeholders. Core responsibilities for the role include:
  • Running user research studies: Scoping with stakeholders, and planning research studies of various sizes and complexities. Selecting the right methods and techniques for the purpose. Discovering users and business needs by conducting user research, analyzing user needs and behaviors to meet user expectations and design goals, usability, and accessibility requirements for digital products and services.
    • Qualitative research: Conducting in-depth user interviews, focus groups, and usability testing
    • Quantitative research: Creating and analyzing surveys, combining data from various data sources to draw conclusions and give recommendations.
    • Ethnographic research: Running diary studies, contextual inquiries, and other ethnographic methods to deliver in-depth insight into user needs and behaviors.
  • Building and maintaining a research roadmap connecting different teams and business areas. Finding the best methods to plan and prioritize different research studies and managing these projects to deliver them on time.
  • Creating feedback loops: Designing and maintaining sustainable feedback loops with end-users and business stakeholders to inform design decisions for continuous improvement.
  • Delivering impactful insights: Combining findings from various research sources to produce insights that inform decisions, direct design, and product development.
  • Sharing and influencing: Preparing research reports and artifacts to communicate them to stakeholders, decision-makers, and teams. Creating complex artifacts e.g. user journey maps, and service blueprints. Building research repository and growing awareness about users.
  • Design thinking: Leading design thinking processes to solve the right problems in the right way, empathizing with users, challenging assumptions, redefining problems, and creating innovative solutions; advocating the methodology and infusing it in all project activities.
  • Democratizing research: Sharing knowledge about research practices, and getting others involved to democratize UX research across the company.
  • Continuous improvement and data-driven design: Seeking new ways to enhance user experience, design working processes, and product usability through data analysis and user feedback
You are meant for this job if: The Digital department at TechnipFMC is a highly collaborative environment. You will work with different disciplines, types of stakeholders, and co-workers. Collaboration and communication will be a key attribute contributing to the team’s success. While working with product development team members (Product owner, designers, data scientists, platform technicians) you will:
  • Liaise with product owners and managers to align research goals, scope, and plans.
  • Communicate with business stakeholders to understand their perspectives and priorities for the products. Get them involved in research scoping and planning, and communicate research outcomes to them.
  • Talk to end-users of systems, products, and services
  • Talk to customers and partners when applicable
  • Present research outcomes: findings and recommendations to the departmental management, VP & C-level leadership when applicable
Skills Additional Skills Core qualifications required for this position:
  • Relevant degree in User Experience, Psychology, Sociology, or equivalent experience as a UX researcher or Service Designer.
  • Minimum 3 years in relevant role (Mid-position)
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a relevant role (Senior role)
  • Problem-solving skills and ability to challenge the status quo;
  • Practical knowledge and deep understanding of research methodologies both qualitative and quantitive; being up to date with current trends and best practices
  • Ability to define the right research methods for the purpose and willingness to learn and try new methods
  • Experience in scoping, planning, conducting, and analyzing user research and usability studies
  • Experience in creating complex research-based artifacts e.g. user journey maps, service blueprints, personas, behavioral archetypes, and Jobs To Be Done
  • It is nice to have experience in data-driven UX research, in defining and tracking UX/product metrics
  • Practical experience with the research tools: UXTweak (or similar), HotJar (or similar), Miro, Google Analytics (or similar)
  • Ability to align various stakeholders around research goals and plans
  • Great communication skills and ability to lead discussions with different types of stakeholders: users, business representatives, product managers, senior managers
  • Excellent command of verbal and written English.
