Why this role is important to us As Global Delivery Operations Managing Director you will be responsible for driving and executing horizontal transformation effort across Global Delivery (70%) and Client Delivery execution in dedicated operational area (i.e. Investment Compliance) (30%). This will include working closely with the global and regional functional leads, global simplification leads, country leads and HUB leads to drive initiatives and achieve goals across the transformation portfolio. This will entail driving accountability within the Business for end to end ownership of activities and processes, timely and high quality deliverables, and continuous improvement. You will supervise managers and inform executives on progress and performance. A successful candidate must have a broad knowledge of program management principles, experience leading organizations through transformational change and the ability to build relationships and engage effectively at executive levels. They must have a strategic mindset as well as be able to lead highly matrixed teams at State Street. The goal is to ensure every program will be delivered successfully and add the highest possible value to the organization What you will be responsible for
  • Initiate and set goals for programs according to the strategic objectives of the organization.
  • Develop and monitor budgets, forecasting and resource allocations for the program, prioritizing based on strategic decisions.
  • Establish Project Governance to communicate frequently and appropriately
  • Maintain standard change control process, deploy and maintain risk, issue and decision logs
  • Drive horizontal implementation of transformation efforts to drive scalability of solutions
  • Devise evaluation strategies to monitor performance and determine the need for improvements
  • Discover ways to enhance efficiency and productivity of processes and people
  • Build and manage relationships with the client and all stakeholders
  • Develop and build up a strong relationship with internal and external clients.
  • Ensure sufficiently trained staff is available to service the client/s and deliver quality service.
  • Assume responsibility for the implementation of client specific projects (new business development review, planning & roll out).
  • Manage relationships with the goal of meeting/exceeding service delivery standards.
  • Represent State Street by serving on internal and external committees and industry associations.
  • Evaluate current methods and strategies. Communicate and manage implementation of changes and improvements.
  • Responsible for the direction and training of subordinate managers and staff.
  • Resolve employee complaints.
  • Evaluate subordinate managerial performance.
  • Responsible for developing department budget and staffing projections; monitors and approves department expenses.

Education & Preferred Qualifications
  • Strong understanding of financial markets and investment management processes, including back office functions
  • Degree qualified with a financial or analytical discipline preferred, or relevant experience within the financial services industry
  • Ability to work effectively at all levels of an organization and build strong relationships with team members, managers, and senior executives to drive successful completion of the work
  • Significant management consulting and corporate strategy leadership experience - 5+ years of work experience with top-tier strategy consulting experience/Corporate Strategy Group preferred
  • Significant exposure to Financial Services and Capital Markets industry – experience in Fund Administration, Investment Compliance will be an asset
  • Strong experience in shaping organization’s strategy and advancing the growth agenda
  • Strong work-ethic with ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment under tight deadlines
  • Experience with Agile software development, highly configurable systems and leading testing techniques
  • Willingness and ability to travel.
