Position Overview

The Revenue Operations Analyst is a critical thinker responsible for efficiently and accurately posting payments received from international customers. This role requires the ability to interpret international customer remittances to determine proper application against outstanding balances. The Revenue Operations Analyst will work through errors which accompany a payment or correspondence and resolve those through the guidance of the Revenue Operations Specialist. This role will collaborate with trainers and develop internal documentation to support processes. The Revenue Operations Analyst may, from time to time, be required to complete clerical tasks such as scanning, faxing and outreach to international customers. Cross-functional collaboration will be an integral part of success in this role.

Essential Duties

Include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Efficiently and accurately post a high volume of payments and/or correspondence in defined TAT.
  • Ability to identify missing pertinent payment information and conduct necessary research to resolve, including leveraging portals & conducting outreach to payers.
  • Ability to identify deviations in established processes and is able to communicate the issue(s) to leadership for resolution.
  • Ability to follow established processes and procedures and understand downstream impact.
  • Monitor credit balances and determine validity of existing credit on account and take appropriate end steps to resolve.
  • Processes requests for customer refunds due.
  • Review correspondence and appropriately classify the documentation for resolution.
  • Analyze customer trends and deliver results to leadership on defined cadence.
  • Ability to support cross-functional partners by acting as SME in projects.
  • Ability to pull and provide audit support for various requests.
  • Ability to interpret and act upon internal and external inquires received.
  • Stay current with relevant medical billing regulations, rules, and guidelines.
  • Provide ad-hoc support as necessary within the department (i.e. special projects, provide support due to outages/high volume).
  • Maintain a positive attitude with excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to interact and build solid working relationships with peers at all levels of the organization.

  • Ability to work normal schedule of Monday through Friday during normal business hours.
  • Ability to work in front of a computer screen and/or perform typing for approximately 90% of a typical working day.
  • Demonstrated ability to take on additional responsibilities while delivering successful results.
  • Ability to work overtime as needed.
  • Use of computer, and or telephone for prolonged periods of time may be necessary.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Associates degree or High School Degree/General Education Diploma and 2+ years of experience in medical or insurance billing in lieu of associates degree.
  • Previous accounting experience, particularly with AP/AR processes and collectons of payments (dunning).
  • Experience with SAP.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.
  • Proficient computer skills to include internet navigation, email usage, and word processing.
  • Authorization to work in job location without sponsorship.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform the Essential Duties of the position with or without accommodation.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, healthcare or related field.
  • Experience with other EHR system.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication.
  • Strong MS Office skills, especially Excel.
