About the RoleWe’re looking for a Kafka Middleware Engineer — someone who can architect, tune, and evolve a high-performance messaging backbone that powers mission-critical systems across on-prem, OpenShift, and Azure.You’ll own our Kafka ecosystem end-to-end: from designing rock-solid clusters to driving innovation in how we integrate with modern platforms and applications.Yes, we also run a legacy Fax platform — but think of it as a side quest, not the main story. You’ll pick it up fast, help us keep it stable, and eventually help us phase it out.

What You’ll Do

• Own the deployment, maintenance, and continuous improvement of our Kafka platform (Linux, OpenShift, Azure) and Fax platform (Windows).
• Partner with application teams to design and implement robust Kafka configurations.
• Deliver expert-level 3rd line support for Kafka (and, lightly, for the Fax platform).
• Drive innovation by identifying and implementing enhancements to our Kafka infrastructure.
• Share your knowledge—mentor peers and champion best practices across teams.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to define requirements, shape roadmaps, and guide implementation strategies.
• Create and promote guidelines for Kafka service excellence.
• Become the go-to expert on our Fax solution.
• Participate in watch duty rotation, ensuring reliable 2nd and 3rd level support for production services.

What You Bring

Technical Expertise:

• 4+ years of hands-on experience managing Kafka across on-prem, Azure Event Hub, and Confluent Cloud.
• Deep knowledge of middleware on Linux, Windows, and Azure platforms.
• Proficiency in scripting with Ansible/Tower and Python.
• Strong grasp of Kafka-related security, networking, availability, and performance.
• Experience with containerization (OpenShift), Azure integration, and Terraform.

Soft Skills:

• Eagerness to learn and share knowledge.
• Comfort navigating complexity and ambiguity.
• A client-Pierwsza mindset with a commitment to quality.
• Excellent communication skills in English.
• Agile/Scrum team experience and a collaborative spirit.

Group Technology Services (GTS) plans, builds and runs the global infrastructure of Euroclear, and is additionally responsible for the IT service management to the operating entities of the various Group markets.
