Our Desktop team develops applications that bring Box’s content platform to Windows and MacOS devices, enabling users to access and collaborate on documents seamlessly. You will work on foundational tools and frameworks, supporting team productivity and product quality, and building solutions for engineers across our organization.

Responsibilities
  • Work from our Warsaw office alongside the Desktop Windows Engineering team.
  • Collaborate with teams in Redwood City, California, and Warsaw.
  • Participate in daily stand-ups and coordinate with team members.
  • Develop and improve tooling and frameworks supporting enterprise-grade products.
  • Conduct peer code reviews and document technical designs.
  • Research and propose design solutions, presenting pros and cons.
  • Work with various systems, including CI, release, and automation frameworks.
  • Manage virtual machines and build infrastructure automation.
  • Lead or co-own projects, ensuring high-quality, maintainable code.
  • Identify and resolve pain points in development processes.
  • Develop metrics, alerts, and reports to monitor infrastructure health.
Qualifications
  • 2+ years of development or operations experience.
  • Proficiency in modern programming languages (e.g., Python, Java, Go).
  • Knowledge of software design principles and testing methodologies.
  • Self-motivated with strong collaboration skills.
  • Experience building tools and frameworks for engineers.
  • Excellent problem-solving and debugging skills.
  • Strong communication skills in English.
  • Degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines, SCM tools like Jenkins, Github, and managing VMs with tools like Ansible.
Preferred Skills
  • Experience with VSphere, ESXi, Parallels, Verge.io.
  • Unix/Linux system administration.
  • Secure build practices, Mac and Windows environments, networking, and infrastructure.
  • Experience with MacStadium VPC or Orka solutions.
Work Distribution
  • 50% designing, coding, and building integrations/frameworks.
  • 15% supporting tools, frameworks, and system upgrades.
  • 15% investigating system issues.
  • 15% meetings.
  • 5% documentation.
Methodology
  • Agile (Kanban), Jira, GitHub, Jenkins, Ansible/Packer.
